Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China, wrote back to the international students of Peking University on June 21. President Xi encouraged them to have a deeper understanding of the real China, share their ideas and experience with more people, and play a positive role in promoting people-to-people exchanges.
On the morning of June 23rd, Taizhou University held a study and exchange symposium titled “Xi Jinping’s Reply to International Students of Peking University”. The meeting was attended by Zhao Yunyan, member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President of Taizhou University, international students, foreign teachers and personnel from relevant departments responsible for education, teaching and management of international students.
Zhao Yunyan led participants to learn the contents of the reply. Foreign students and teachers, teachers’ representatives and staff of relevan departments exchanged opinions and received souvenirs such as “On the History of the Chinese Communist Party” and took photos as a souvenir. All of participants agreed that the reply fully shows the concern for international students and the importance of international exchanges and cooperation. International students and foreign teachers showed the opinion that they love Taizhou University, Taizhou city and China. They praised not only the brilliant achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, but help offering for other countries in fighting COVID-19.
