History of Taizhou University

The university is located in Taizhou, a national historical and cultural city known as an ancient county of the Han and Tang Dynasties and a famous district of Huaihai. It is a full-time public undergraduate university. In April 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Taizhou Teachers College was upgraded to the public university. In May 2017, She has the right to grant bachelor's degrees to students. In the past 80 years, the motto of Pursuing truth and Advocating practice has been leading all staff and students to promote and upgrade. More than 100,000 outstanding talents at all levels have cultivated for local economic and social development.

Status of Taizhou University

The university has two campuses in Jichuan and Taixing, covering a total area of 697,600 square meters (1046.39 acres). The area of the teaching and laboratory buildings is 357,100 square meters. All assets are 3.109 billion yuan, including teaching and scientific research equipment which is 114 million yuan. The library has 1,029,300 books and 3,305,700 electronic books.

Teaching staff 

There are nearly 800 faculty members, including 52 professors , 208 vice-professors, 125 Doctors, and 454 Masters; 1 teacher was awarded New Century Outstanding Talent by the State Ministry of Education, 3 teachers was awarded Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions in Jiangsu Province, and 72 teachers got the other provincial prizes.

Discipline construction

There are more than 10,000 full-time Students, 12 teaching units in the Taizhou University. 29 undergraduate majors cover 8 disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, management, and art.

The university has 3 provincial key construction disciplines, 5 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 15 provincial first-class courses, 46 provincial laboratories, projects, teaching and reaching bases,etc.

Taizhou University has established cooperative relationships with many universities and institutions in America，Germany，Canada，Russia，Korea,etc. Every year, many teachers go abroad to carry out collaborative research projects, academic seminars/conferences/symposium; and students go there to exchange, have training program. Some students receive scholarships from  Jiangsu province government for the summer overseas cultural exchange and internship practice.
